Fringe Binge 2012

FRINGE BINGE 3 is getting ever closer!  We’re going to be watching all episodes of Fringe, Season 1 through 4, over two weekends - Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29 and Saturday and Sunday, May 5-6!  Check out the schedule!

What makes this Fringe Binge special?  Not only it is supersized, but we’re also giving out PRIZES!

On each of the four Fringe Binge days, we’ll be giving away at least one prize to a lucky
Fringe Binger… but you gotta be watching the Binge in order to win!  We will announce the “prize round” episode for that day shortly before the episode begins, then will ask a trivia question based on the episode we’re watching.  Whoever is the 47th tweeter with the correct answer will win the prize!

Fringe Binge RIDES AGAIN!!!

If you joined us for the last two FRINGE BINGES (in December and earlier this month), you know what a blast they were!  That’s why we are planning simply the biggest, craziest FRINGE BINGE of ALL TIME… a Fringe re-watch marathon so massive, that we’re gonna need a whole month to get ready for it (and probably a whole month to recover afterward…)

The theme for FRINGE BINGE 3 is Season in a Saturday/Season in a Sunday.  We will be watching one complete season of Fringe per four days over two successive weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), the weekends of April 28-29 (Season 1-2) and May 5-6 (Season 3-4).  That’s Episode 101 (the Pilot) through Episode 421.

Not only that, but we will be giving away some cool Fringe prizes during both weekends to those who are participating!!

WHAT IS FRINGE BINGE?

It’s a simultaneous worldwide FRINGE-a-thon where we’re more or less watching the same episodes in the same order at the exact same moment across all time zones. You participate by watching along at home, using your own DVD’s, Blu-Rays or other recordings. 

Everyone will be watching this same block of episodes at the same time, and when the block is finished, there will be a break before the next block of episodes is set to begin.  This should allow you generous gap times for snack time and pee breaks! 

The time schedules for these episode blocks will be made available here on this Tumblr for all major time zones across the world.  So if you’re late to the party, or have to get some sleep, or can’t get out of going to work or school for a few hours, and have to rejoin the marathon in progress, you’ll know exactly which episode to put into your DVD player so you’re watching the same episodes everyone else is watching at that moment.

While you’re watching, you can remain rapt in silence by the awesomeness that is FRINGE, or you can Tumblr post, check-in on GetGlue, or Tweet your brains out (hashtag #fringebinge) about the episode we’re all watching at the moment.

That’s right, by popular demand, FRINGE BINGE will return from Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4 - a worldwide simultaneous home rewatch of YOUR favorite episodes!

We had so much fun over the holidays watching all episodes of FRINGE, that we can’t wait to do it again!  We’ve tentatively scheduled the next marathon event for the first spring hiatus weekend after February sweeps.  This time, we’ll be re-watching viewer’s choice of episodes from Season 1, 2, 3 and 4. 

The whole idea is to just have a simultaneous worldwide FRINGE-a-thon where we’re more or less watching the same episodes in the same order at the exact same moment across all time zones.   During the marathon, we’ll also live tweet and check in on GetGlue too!

The Mini Marathon will start at 9 p.m. Eastern on Friday, March 2 and continue throughout the weekend nonstop until early Sunday evening.  (As before, international schedules will be made available.)

Fringe Binge Rides Again!

This is just a quick update:  FRINGE BINGE will be back - by popular demand!  Keep your calendars open for Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4 as we get together again to watch your favorite episodes! (This is our tentative date; planned for Fringe’s next hiatus.)
